Flower Mound Citizens Academy

Bridging the Gap Between Residents and Local Government

Flower Mound residents are invited to participate in the Flower Mound Citizens Academy (FMCA). Participants will gain a better understanding of their Town’s government and the services provided, while Town staff will gain valuable insight into the priorities and needs of residents.

Ten (10) sessions are held at various Town facilities between January and March, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., with most sessions on Tuesdays, followed by a graduation ceremony during a regular Town Council meeting. Each participant must attend one regular Town Council meeting over the course of the Academy. Please review the session schedule to make sure you can make most of the dates as participants can only miss two sessions in order to graduate. View the 2023 schedule here.

Registration has closed for the Class of 2023 as we have reached class capacity.

Sign up to 'Notify Me' for updates on this program and other news about the Town and be one of the first to know when registration opens for the Class of 2024!

Each week residents will hear from different Town staff members, representing various Departments. It is free to Flower Mound residents and business owners, 18-years and older, who are able to commit to a minimum of eight out of the ten sessions. Registration is limited to the first 25 applicants. A release of liability agreement will be required.
