On Monday, February 4, the Flower Mound Town Council approved an automatic aid agreement for fire and emergency medical services between the Town and the City of Highland Village. The automatic aid agreement will effectively shorten the response times for homes and businesses near the border between the two cities. For Flower Mound homes east of Morriss Road and north of Valley Ridge Parkway, the Highland Village Fire Department will automatically send one paramedic engine to fire and emergency medical calls, providing a quicker response time. In return, the Flower Mound Fire Department will provide a second engine to commercial fire alarms in Highland Village.
