Sweet Flower Mound Land: A Colorful History

Thursday, October 11, 2018

Explore Flower Mound’s heritage and history in the second “Wild about Flower Mound” event (sponsored by The Flower Mound Foundation) on Thursday, October 11 at 7 p.m. Flower Mound was incorporated in 1961, but its colorful history of European settlement stretches back to the infancy of Texas in the 1840s. Before then, Native American tribes traveled the area, enjoying the abundance of the prairie. Long-time resident and Flower Mound historian Mark Glover, son-in-law of Flower Mound’s first mayor, Bob Rheudasil, will present a journey through time with tales of Indian lore, settlement woes, and high society gatherings on the prairie – all part of Flower Mound’s past. To register, please call 972.874.6165 or email fmpl@flower-mound.com.
