Written Examination (Police Officer Cadet Only)

The purpose of this test is for measuring the ability to learn police information, observation and memory, verbal and reading comprehension, situational judgment, and problem solving. A study guide and practice examination is available for purchase from the exam manufacturer; however, this information is only provided to applicants who are invited to the Police Officer Examination. Certified peace officers are not required to take the written examination.

Row Evaluation

We utilize the 2000 Meter Row Evaluation. An applicant must pass at the 50th percentile based on standardized age and gender norms using the Concept 2 Rower. You can use the Texas Department of Public Safety Row Calculator to determine the time you will need to obtain a passing score.
