Junior Police Academy (JPA)

Bridging the Gap Between Law Enforcement and Youth



Students entering seventh and eighth grade in the fall are invited to be a part of the exciting Flower Mound Police Department Junior Police Academy this summer. Presentations will include the K-9 unit, Investigative Services Department, Traffic unit, the SWAT team, Marine Safety Unit, Bike team, Training unit, and much more. Students will be able to ask questions and talk with the officers as well as go hands on with equipment that is used in everyday operations. The overall purpose of the program is to motivate young people while enhancing leadership skills and encouraging community participation.


***Application Period Opens May 1st, 2023****

 

Sessions will take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday the week of June 12-16 and July 17-21. Space is limited; parents are asked to complete this registration form indicating which session you would like to enroll your child in. Registration forms can be dropped off at the Flower Mound Police Department Records desk (located in the FMPD lobby). The lobby is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  If you are dropping off a completed registration from after normal business hours please place in the silver mail drop box in the front lobby of the Flower Mound Police Department. All forms are due by Tuesday, June 6 at 5 p.m.


Cost: $20 (Payment is accepted on the first day of class via cash or check.)
