Donations  and Gifts

DONATIONS OF MATERIALS
The Library accepts donations of new and gently used books, DVDs, and audio materials. Materials that are not needed for the Library's collections will be given to the Friends of the Library to be sold in their quarterly used book sales. Proceeds from these sales support Library programs and services.

The Library is unable to accept the following:
  • materials that are dirty, wet, have mold or mildew, have excessive wear and tear, or are otherwise in unusable condition
  • audio cassettes and VHS tapes
  • computer software and computer books more than three years old
  • encyclopedia sets
  • magazines
  • Reader's Digest Condensed Books
Please bring donations to the Library's south entrance during Library hours. Check with a Library staff person for instructions on where to place donations. The Library can provide a hand truck for moving heavy boxes, but staff is not able to assist with bringing materials inside. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE DONATIONS OUTSIDE THE LIBRARY ENTRANCES.

MEMORIAL AND TRIBUTE BOOKS
The Flower Mound Public Library offers a unique way to honor or memorialize a special person through the "Honor with Books" donation. To initiate a donation, please complete the "Honor with Books" form and return the form with your check made payable to the "Flower Mound Public Library". The donation amount must be $25 per item requested. A bookplate will be placed in the item(s) with the name of the person to be honored or memorialized. A letter of acknowledgement will be sent to the individual or to the family.

MONETARY DONATIONS
Donations of cash or checks can be made to the Friends of the Flower Mound Public Library. Money raised by the Friends of the Library, through donations, book sales, and other fundraisers is used to enhance the library services. Please make checks payable to "The Friends of the Flower Mound Public Library." Donations of cash or checks can be accepted at the Library service desk. Checks can also be mailed to the Library.
