If you are just beginning, these resources can assist you free of charge with everything you need to know to get started. They can provide information on writing a business plan, funding, marketing, and managing your business. They also offer many training classes to owners, managers, and employees of small businesses in Denton County.

Registration is not required by the Town of Flower Mound to start a new business; however, a permit may be required if you plan to occupy an existing building. Home-based businesses are subject to the regulations outlined in Chapter 98 (Zoning), Article IV, Section 98-984 in the Home Occupation Ordinance. Certificate of Occupancy applications are available in our Building Inspections Department. If you plan on constructing a new building, you will need to contact our Planning Department for information on the requirements.

SCORE

SCORE is a national organization sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration that offers free, confidential advice and counsel to current and future business clients. Local SCORE counselors meet clients at the Flower Mound Chamber on Thursday afternoons and are also willing to meet with clients at their places of business.
