May 17, 2021
Flower Mound Town Council approved a Professional Services Agreement with PROS Consulting, Inc. to provide a Tennis Center Feasibility Study for Flower Mound, in the amount of $49,950.00.
April 21, 2022
Following the completion of a Tennis Center Feasibility Study, which incorporated substantial public input, PROS Consulting, Inc. presented their findings to Town Council during a work session. You can view the final report from the study here. The feasibility study showed strong support from the community for a future tennis center. It also showed a tennis center would have the potential to be a valuable economic and social asset for the Town. After that presentation, Town Council directed Town staff to pursue funding options for a possible tennis center. Town Council also expressed interest in bringing this issue to the community for a vote.
June 20, 2022
Town staff presented five options to Town Council for funding a possible tennis center. Council directed staff to further pursue funding options, and Council also set a goal of putting this issue on the May 6 election ballot.
October 20, 2022
During a work session on Oct. 20, 2022, staff presented background information regarding the tennis center feasibility study finding and details on multiple funding options for the possible center. Council officially directed staff to place this issue on the May 2023 ballot and to consider multiple funding options including 4B Sales Tax, I&S tax rate, cash contributions, and/or a combination of those options.
November 17, 2022
After further pursuing the funding options, staff presented further details on each option during a work session on Nov. 17.
February 6, 2023
During the Feb. 6, 2023, meeting, the Town Council voted to place Proposition A on the May 6 ballot.
