The Flower Mound StoryWalk® at Heritage Park is an exciting opportunity to enjoy a story and one of our town’s beautiful parks at the same time! You’ll begin at the first page and follow the numbered signs to read a new story each month. Along the way, you’ll find interactive reading ideas and early literacy tips, and an art project that you can do at home and share with us.
Storytime in the Park
Bring a blanket or chairs and join us for a special storytime at Heritage Park! We'll read the StoryWalk® together with other stories and songs. For children of all ages and their caregivers. No registration is required.
Saturday, October 1 and Saturday, November 12 at 9:30 a.m. at Heritage Park
Did you visit the StoryWalk® this month?
October's story is Gustavo the Shy Ghost by Flavia Z. Drago
You can use crayons and watercolor paint to make a ghost like Gustavo!
- White watercolor paper or cardstock
- Ghost template printed on thick paper (optional)
- White crayon
- Watercolor paints
- Water for painting and cleaning your brush
Use your white crayon to draw a ghost like Gustavo! Press down very hard so that the crayon leaves lots of wax on the paper. (You can also print the ghost template, cut it out, and use it to trace a ghost shape.) Using the watercolors, paint over your drawing to reveal the ghost!
Please share your creation in our StoryWalk Gallery!
Either bring your original creation to the Youth Desk at the Library for display, with your child’s name and your email address written on the back, or share a photo with us by emailing it to email@example.com.
