Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting, Presented by CoServ

Every December, the Town of Flower Mound rings in the holidays with the annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony! This year the Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony is Presented by CoServ, and will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, from 6-9 p.m.

In anticipation of the event, road closures will begin on Dec. 2 at 3:30 p.m. Portions of Gerault Road and Spinks Road will be closed. These closures will be in place until after the event concludes at 9 p.m. View the road closure map here.

Reindeer Run 5K & Grinch Sprint

The day will kick off with the 5th annual Reindeer Run 5K and Grinch Sprint hosted by the Rotary Club of Flower Mound, in partnership with the Town of Flower Mound. 

The event will take place at Bakersfield Park located at 1201 Duncan Lane. All participants will receive a medal and a T-shirt while supplies last. Participants are encouraged to come in holiday attire and can enjoy coffee, hot chocolate, pancakes, and cookies after the run while supplies last. Santa Claus and the Grinch will be on hand for photos. Awards will be given out in each age group and to the top three male and female finishers overall.

Christmas Parade

The parade begins at 6 p.m. at Spinks Road and Lexington and ends at Gerault Park (1200 Gerault Rd.), near the Flower Mound Community Activity Center. Floats lineup on at Shadow Ridge Middle School of Aberdeen Dr. This year's theme is Cowboy Christmas.

There is no parking on site at the Community Activity Center. Overflow parking and shuttle pick-up is at Bakersfield Park, 1201 Duncan Lane. Shuttles will run from 5 to 9:30 p.m., including one ADA bus.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

The tree lighting ceremony will take place at Gerault Park (1200 Gerault Rd.) at the Community Activity Center, along with live performances from local groups, pictures with Santa, a community tent, food trucks, kids' activities, and more. The evening will conclude with the countdown to the lighting of more than 100,000 LED lights on out 50-foot-tall Christmas tree. Enjoy a festive fireworks show immediately following the tree lighting.
