Light from the Darkness: A Virtual International Holocaust Remembrance Day Event
How do we continue to commemorate the Holocaust? How can we draw any light from such darkness? On Thursday, January 27 at 7 p.m. via Zoom, join us in commemorating International Holocaust Remembrance Day in an event filled with song, story, ritual, and remembrance. Presented by Violet Neff-Helms, Vice President of Teach the Shoah Foundation and co-author of the book "Light from the Darkness: A Ritual for Holocaust Remembrance." African American Heritage: The Quakertown Story in Denton, Texas
The Denton County Office of History and Culture will visit the Library on Tuesday, February 1 at 7 p.m. with its Traveling Museum in honor of African American History Month. Learn about Quakertown, a community of working-class Black families that was forcibly removed to create Civic Center Park in Denton, Texas. This program is appropriate for ages 8 and older.
