Ryan Dane
Sr. Staff Sgt. (retired) Ryan Dane moved to Flower Mound from Mission Viejo California with his family in December 1998. He attended McKamy Middle School and while attending Flower Mound High School, he joined JROTC. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force and held several positions during Operation Iraqi Freedom (2004-2005). While stationed at Vandenberg Space Force Base, he was an Air Transportation Specialist. In 2014 he re-enlisted and deployed to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Ryan is the recipient of numerous medals, awards and ribbons that include: Air Force Meritorious Unit Award, AF Outstanding Unit Award with one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, AF Good Conduct Medal, Air Reserve Meritorious Service Medal with one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Star Device, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Services Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Air Force Nuclear Deterrence Operations Medal, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Gold Frame, AF Longevity Service Award with 2 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with 1 Bronze Hourglass Device and 1 Mobilization Device, Air Force NCO Professional Military Education Graduate-Thin Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon with one Bronze Star Device, AF Training Thin Ribbon, and the NATO International Security Assistance Force Medal.
Ryan's family feels his commitment to the United States Military in part influenced his younger brother Specialist Taylor Behrens (US Army) in making a similar career choice and they are proud and thankful for his service.
Today, Ryan continues his chosen career in logistics and works for Alliance Operating Services. Ryan is the father of one son, Ryker Dane and they live here in Flower Mound.
