School Resource Officer Unit - Sergeant Smith
Sergeant Barron Smith has been with the Flower Mound Police Department since 2000. He came to the Criminal Investigations Division in August 2020 from the Patrol Division and is assigned to the School Resource Officer Unit. His team consists of nine School Resource Officers in Flower Mound schools within the Lewisville Independent School District. He is currently in his 26th year in Law Enforcement.
Sergeant Smith was born in Midland, Texas and grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico. An avid baseball fan and former select baseball coach, Barron enjoys spending time with the students and staff at various campuses in Flower Mound. He loves spending time with his family, watching his daughter play soccer for Solar FC, working on his farm, camping, and racing off-road remote-control trucks.

Flower Mound High School - Officer Mueller
Officer Mueller has been with the Flower Mound Police Department since 2013. He was born in Minnesota, but was raised here in DFW and graduated from Trinity High School in Euless. After high school he went to college at University of Texas at Arlington. In addition to being a police officer, Officer Mueller also has 20 years of experience as a paramedic.
Marcus High School - Officer Anderson
Officer Anderson has been with the Flower Mound Police Department since 2001 and has served the students and faculty of Marcus High School since August 2014.
He was born and raised in the area and graduated from Lewisville High School. You might see him at area ball parks cheering on his son’s baseball team or dancing at dance recitals supporting his daughters. In his spare time, he fishes and avidly supports his Longhorns, Cowboys, and Rangers.

Marcus High School 9th Grade Campus - Officer Chaple
Officer Chaple has been with the Flower Mound Police Department for 13 years and has been assigned to Marcus High School 9th Grade Campus since August 2021. Officer Chaple spent the 2020-2021 school year at Downing Middle School.
Officer Chaple was born in Erie, PA and moved to Dallas when he was 7-years-old. He attended West Mesquite High School and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Texas A&M University. He grew up dirt bike riding and now enjoys cycling (both road biking and mountain biking) and watching his son play club and high school hockey. He continues to be an avid fan of Texas A&M football, where his daughter is currently attending.
Flower Mound High School 9th Grade Campus - Officer Espinosa
Officer Espinosa has been with the Flower Mound Police Department since 2020. He worked at the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office for three years and at the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office for ten years prior to joining Flower Mound Police Department.
Officer Espinosa loves football and is a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Arlington Renegades, Frisco Fighters, and Notre Dame.
Middle and Elementary Schools
Shadow Ridge Middle School - Officer Vega
Officer Vega has been with the Flower Mound Police Department since 2008. In addition to Shadow Ridge Middle School, he is responsible for Bluebonnet, Garden Ridge, and Vickery Elementary Schools.
Officer Vega was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Texas when he was 11 years old. He attended LISD schools and graduated from Lewisville High School. He enjoys engaging with students, whether its teaching a class or supporting the numerous fine arts groups and sports teams on campus.
Lamar Middle School - Officer Bruno
Officer Bruno has been with the Flower Mound Police Department since 2020. In addition to Lamar Middle School, he is responsible for Prairie Trail and Timber Creek Elementary Schools.
Officer Bruno is from Madison, Alabama and is an Alabama Football fan. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD where he was a wrestler. He worked for 6 years at the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama before coming to Flower Mound Police Department. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf or playing video games.

McKamy Middle School - Officer Hooper
Officer Hooper has been with the Flower Mound Police Department since 2011. In addition to McKamy Middle School, she is responsible for Old Settlers, Wellington, and Liberty Elementary Schools.
She graduated from Lewisville High School and attended college at Kennesaw University in Georgia. Her hobbies are painting, playing the drums, cooking, and anything outdoors! She also loves spending time with her family.

Forestwood Middle School - Officer White
Officer White has been with the Flower Mound Police Department since 2013. In addition to Forestwood Middle School, he is responsible for Forest Vista and Donald Elementary Schools.

Downing Middle School - Officer Buck
Officer Buck has been with the Flower Mound Police Department for 15 years. Prior to his School Resource Officer assignment, Officer Buck was assigned to the Community Service Unit for 10 years. He is honored to be spending his first year as a School Resource Officer at Downing Middle School.
Officer Buck was born in Dallas, Texas and grew up right next door to Flower Mound in Highland Village. He attended Marcus High School and went on to obtain his bachelor's and master's degrees from Sam Houston State University. He grew up playing golf every weekend with his dad, and how enjoys playing, watching, and coaching sports with his wife and children. When he is not watching or coaching sports he enjoys spending time with his family and running a small hobby farm which includes mini cows, mini donkeys, ducks, and dogs. Officer Buck is an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and always looks forward to the NFL season.
