In November 2007, voters approved four one-quarter cents of sales tax be dedicated for parks and recreation, street maintenance, crime control, and fire control. While the parks and recreation one-quarter cent sales tax does not require voter reauthorization, the street maintenance, crime control, and fire control one-quarter sales tax measures need to be periodically re-authorized by voters, per law. In 2011 and 2015, the street maintenance dedicated sales tax was subsequently reauthorized by voters. Learn more about the history of Dedicated Sales Tax in Flower Mound.
