TxDOT Plan Proposes to Widen US 377 Beginning 2022
TxDOT plans to widen US 377, from north of Crawford Road to the FM 1171 intersection, as well as construct an overpass for US 377 motorists, at the intersection of US 377 and FM 1171. The purpose behind the expansion is to increase mobility by reducing traffic congestion and improving connectivity for drivers. The project will widen US 377 from a two-lane road to a four-lane divided highway, adding turn lanes and sidewalks, in addition to the overpass at the FM 1171 intersection (see rendering). The proposed plan is scheduled to go out for bid in fall 2022, with construction lasting approximately three years. As the project progresses, the Town will communicate updates as they are provided by TxDOT.
