Keep Flower Mound Beautiful

Working with Keep Flower Mound Beautiful and the U.S. Green Building Council, the Town of Flower Mound is putting a concentrated effort into Wild About Flower Mound to educate attendees on the vast benefits of Green living and building.  Through a dedicated Environmental Fair with expert speakers, attendees of the festival will learn about the environmental benefits of rain barrels and backyard ponds; along with learning about Texas soil education, improving indoor air quality, and the federal rebates available for Green building.

The Environmental Fair will take place on Saturday, May 15 from 10 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Rodney Love
Rodney is the founder and CEO of H2Options, Inc. and began including rainwater harvesting systems in his landscape services in 2006.  Rodney’s vision is to provide his customers with integrated water solutions which include rainwater harvesting, greywater reuse and efficient landscape irrigation.  As the demand for water conservation has increased, Rodney has focused on establishing these systems as legitimate trades within the construction industry through utilizing proven technologies from Europe and Australia.  Rodney is setting the standard for rainwater harvesting systems and regularly consults with cities and developers concerning water conservation practices. 

Carrie Dubberley
Carrie Dubberley is the founder and President of Dubberley Landscape, Inc.  She is focused on shifting the way we landscape to conserve our most precious resource - water.  Carrie received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture from CSU in 1987, started Dubberley Landscape in 1996 and has installed many earth-friendly landscapes that are both beautiful and good for the environment.  In addition to running Dubberley Landscape, she teaches at Collin College, writes and lectures about Sustainable Landscaping Practices.  Dubberley Landscape, Inc. designs, installs and provides low-maintenance landscape management.  

Don Ferrier
Don is president of Ferrier Builders, Inc. and Ferrier Custom Homes, represents the third generation of the Ferrier family in the quality construction business. Don constructed his first super energy-efficient home in 1982 and then began Ferrier Builders in 1984, focusing on energy efficient construction with SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels). In 2005, Ferrier Customer Homes, started building High Performance custom homes and was the 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Energy Value Housing Award recipient for the construction of the most energy efficient elite homes in a hot climate by the National Association of Home Builders’ Research Center. In addition Ferrier was also the first builder in Texas to build a home to achieve the LEED® Platinum rating.  

Lee Hall
Lee is President of Sustainable Structures of Texas, a sustainable focused construction, builder, and development management company established in 2006. He is currently involved in overseeing the development of Montgomery Farm a 550 acre mixed use/conservation development in Allen, Texas and home of the first registered LEED® certified class-“A” office building, LEED® for Home residence and first registered LEED® for Neighborhood Development Project in Texas. Lee is actively involved with the USGBC North Texas Green Council Chapter and holds a position with the National USGBC as a LEED® for Homes Advocate, LEED® for Neighborhood Development Advocate and Regional LEED® ND Task Force Chairman. 

Chris Mundell
Chris is a key member of the DesignGreen Studio of HKS, Inc and is responsible for assisting project design teams with sustainable strategies, managing project-specific LEED® documentation and researching new sustainable products and technologies.  Chris serves as the Events and Education Commissioner of the USGBC North Texas Green Council Chapter.  He was the chair of the North Texas Sustainable Showcase.  Chris also serves as the Vice President of the Construction Specifications Institute -Dallas Chapter.

Bill Peck
Bill began working in the architectural field in 1982 and founded William Peck & Associates Architects in 1995. Bill specializes in sustainable and green commercial or residential building practices and has been designing homes from 800 square feet to 14,000 square feet.  To date Bill has designed the Timbercreek Net Zero Energy Home in Lewisville. To date Bill has designed 5 LEED-H Platinum and 1 LEED-H Gold. He is well versed on the practical applications of green building - including passive cooling strategies and radiant barriers. His expertise is seen in his designs of sustainable homes that blend in with the community.
