Flower Mound general elections are held annually the second Saturday in May. Items listed on general election ballots for consideration could include Town Council positions, Charter amendments, CIP projects, and bond items. Flower Mound Town Council Members are elected “at-large” and serve two-year terms. The Mayor and Places 2 and 4 are elected in even-numbered years. Places 1, 3, and 5 are elected in odd-numbered years. Under the direction of the Town Council, elections can also be called throughout the rest of the year if necessary. Each member of the Council shall be a qualified voter of the Town, shall be 21 years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election or on the date of appointment, as applicable, have been a resident of the Town for at least one year prior to election date, shall not be employed by the Town, and shall hold no other public office except that of Notary Public or a member of the National Guard or naval or military reserve. Election ballots can also include county, school district, and state propositions. Shall the Town of Flower Mound, Texas, sell and convey for fair market value an approximate 15.815-acre tract of land located on the northwest corner of FM 407 and Chinn Chapel road (known as Chinn Chapel Soccer Complex), and purchase an approximate 23.374-acre property located on the east side of Chinn Chapel Road between Dixon Lane and Waketon Road?
Any eligible Denton County Registered Voter may cast their vote during early voting at any early voting site within Denton County. Any eligible Tarrant County Registered Voter may only cast their vote during early voting at the Flower Mound Police and Courts Building. Early voting by personal appearance will be conducted each weekday at the Flower Mound Police and Courts Building, Community Room, 4150 Kirkpatrick Lane, Flower Mound, TX 75028, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. between April 26, 2010 and April 30, 2010, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 1; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., May 3 and 4.

A registered voter is eligible to vote early by mail if the voter meets at least one of the following criteria:
The voter will be out of the county of the voter’s residence on election day and during the hours of voting at the main early voting polling place for the part of the period for early voting by personal appearance remaining after the voter’s early voting ballot application is submitted. If the voter does not submit the application before early voting by personal appearance begins, the voter is ineligible to early voting by mail, unless the voter is absent from the county when the application is submitted.
The voter has an illness or physical condition that prevents the voter from appearing at the polling place on election day.
The voter is 65 years of age or older on election day.
The voter is confined in jail at the time the application is submitted; serving a misdemeanor sentence for a term that ends on or after election day; pending trial after denial of bail; without bail pending an appeal of a felony conviction; or pending trial or appeal on a bailable offense for which release on bail before Election Day is unlikely.
