Elections and Voting
2012 Special Charter Amendment Election
The Town Charter calls for a review of the Town Charter every five years. The Town Council ordered a Special Election via Ordinance No. 09-12 to be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012, for the purpose of voting “yes” or “no” on 12 proposed home-rule charter amendments.

2012 Charter Review Commission
The Town Council appointed a Charter Review Commission in December 2011. The Commission met over a period of several weeks, solicited public input, and in March 2012 submitted recommended Charter amendments to the Town Council. The Council reviewed the Commission’s report and recommendations, conducted public hearings and meetings regarding the proposed amendments, and voted to include twelve of the thirteen recommendations on the May 12, 2012 General & Special Charter Amendment Election ballot.
