Transportation

Highways

FM 1171 - FM 1171 (Main Street in Lewisville & Cross Timbers Rd. in Flower Mound) serves as the town's east/west corridor connecting the town to I-35E & I-35W.

FM 2499 - FM2499 is a significant North/South corridor that connects Flower Mound to Grapevine, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, and the entire Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex to the south and Highland Village, Lake Lewisville, and Denton County to the North. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is in the process of adding two lanes to the existing center median of FM 2499. Once complete, the road will be a six-lane divided thoroughfare

FM3040 - FM3040 serves as a major East/west arterial connecting Flower Mound to the city of Lewisville. The Texas Department of Transportation recently completed a construction project on a major portion of FM 3040 expanding the existing road into a six-lane divided thoroughfare.  FM 3040 runs adjacent to “The Flower Mound,” an elevated natural landscape from which the Town derives its name.

Airports

Flower Mound is located near two major transportation hubs of the North Texas region. DFW International Airport, 5 minutes south of the town, and Alliance Airport, 15 minutes west of the town are recognized for both domestic and international air transportation facilities.

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
(972)574-8888

More than half of all domestic passengers and nearly two-thirds of all cargo in Texas passes through DFW International Airport. Direct service daily to 147 U.S. destinations and 34 international destinations. Two separate cargo areas serve the airport. In 1993, 725,048 U.S. tons of cargo were handled. Three separate terminals provide Customs and Immigration facilities for international passenger arrivals. Source: Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

Alliance International Airport
(817) 224-6012

A 9,600 foot runway, 24-hour FAA-operated control tower and fee-simple runway access put global distribution just a liftoff away. Distribution can continue through Santa Fe's $100-million intermodal and carload "Alliance Transportation Center" or along any of the four interstate and state highways located nearby.
