The Planning Division has changed the format of development applications. Along with the development application, the associated checklist will need to be included with any submittal. If you have any questions regarding the format of the new applications please contact Planning at 972.874.6347 or planning@flower-mound.com.
The Planning Division has changed the submittal requirements for all development applications. Applicants will only be required to submit one set of plans for Planning review. All of the plans associated with a specific application will need to be submitted electronically in a PDF format on CD. You will still be required to submit hard copies of engineering plans when necessary. We hope that this move to an electronic based submittal will eliminate nonessential copies of development plans while reducing overall costs for development applications.
The Planning Division has outlined submittal requirements for the Development Review Committee (DRC) pre-application meetings. Applicants are required to complete the Pre-Application Request form and submit it to the Town’s Planning Services Division via e-mail or in person.

Information and fees for plat recordation with Denton County can be obtained by clicking on this link. Please note that Denton County does not accept personal checks or checks that are more than 90 days old. Business checks or cashier’s checks should be made out to Cynthia Mitchell, Denton County Clerk.
Minimum total copies required:
1-24” x 36” mylar
3-24” x 36” blueline/blackline
All copies should have the same information and number of pages. A copy is also placed in the Town’s file and a copy retained for the applicant. The 24” x 36” mylar is given to the Engineering Department and the 24” x 36” blueline/blackline is hung with the plats at the Town office for reference. All should have original seals and signatures.
When submitting the mylar and bluelines for plat and replat recordation with the county, original tax certificates must also be submitted (one tax certificate for each property ID number). All plats require tax certificates for recordation. The original tax certificates are available through the Denton County Tax Office, located at 1505 E. McKinney in Denton, for a fee of $10 per certificate. The fee is payable with a business check or cash. The Denton County Tax Assessor/Collector’s website lists the hours of operation and directions. Please note that any plats or replats filed with the county between October 1 and December 31 must show the current year’s taxes paid in full.
