Planning

Planned Development Districts

Chapter 98, Division 21, of the Town's Code of Ordinances contains regulations for Planned Development (PD) Districts. PDs are utilized to ensure consistent, high quality development on multi-acre sites, primarily within the residential and commercial land use designations of the comprehensive master plan. All PDs are created by the adoption of an ordinance by the Town Council. The process for review of a PD includes: 1) submittal of a Zoning Planned Development application to Planning Services; 2) review by staff for compliance; 3) proper notice to affected parties; 4) two public hearings; 5) recommendation by the Planning and Zoning Commission; and 6) final approval by the Town Council. A zoning exhibit and development standards are required to be approved and filed as part of the PD application. Additional information about the process can be found on the Development Process page.

Every approved PD is outlined and referenced by number on the Town's Zoning Map (Ex: PD 30). A summary listing of current PDs in Flower Mound and their associated ordinances is provided below, without any express or implied warranty as to its accuracy, completeness, usefulness, or legibility.
