The Lewisville/ Flower Mound Teen Court is looking for high school student volunteers, ages 13 to 17, who would like to participate in the judicial process and simultaneously earn community service hours. Teen Court disposes of actual Class C Misdemeanor Municipal Court Cases handing-down real verdicts.
To participate, volunteers should attend a training session from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 14 at the Municipal Annex, 1197 W. Main Street in Lewisville. Lunch will be provided along with the chance to win door prizes for attendance and participation. Teen Court trainees are eligible to serve as attorneys, bailiffs, judges, jurors, or check-in clerks.
Please register for Teen Court training by April 12 through contacting Laurie Yonkers, Teen Court Coordinator, at 972.219.3671 or at lyonkers@cityoflewisville.com. When registering, please provide your name, age, school attending, e-mail address, and phone number. Once this information is received by phone or e-mail, registration is complete. The program provides two annual $1,000 scholarships, generated from donations, to graduating seniors who plan to attend college.
