With the help of local elementary school students, Flower Mound Park staff will soon have an exciting playground design for the upcoming Community-Built Playground project. The Community-Built Playground will be in The Heritage Park, Flower Mound’s upcoming signature park located at the northwest corner of Garden Ridge Boulevard and Spinks Road.
As part of the process, the Playground Project Steering Committee will join Flower Mound staff and the design firm on Feb. 28-29 at local elementary schools to collect design ideas and playground name suggestions from some of the Town’s youngest residents. Based upon this feedback, a draft design will be unveiled at a subsequent public meeting to receive additional comments from the community.
Over the next seven months, the Steering Committee will work with the entire community to make this dream a reality. The playground’s concept, design, and construction process will be volunteer-driven and assistance will be needed in a variety of areas including fundraising, food service, and construction.
