More than 80 local businesses, community organizations, and residents recently joined bands from both high schools in celebrating the holiday season by participating in the 22nd Annual Flower Mound Christmas Parade. Christmas-themed floats, motorized vehicles, and marching groups paraded up Morriss Road to the cheers of approximately 4,500 spectators. The Town was honored to have State Sen. Jane Nelson serve as Grand Marshal. In addition, State Rep. Tan Parker and Denton County Commissioners Bobby Mitchell and Andy Eads also joined in the festivities and participated in the parade.
Leading the parade, Summit Club members made Christmas a little bit brighter for others by collecting 3,000 pounds of canned-goods from parade participants and attendees. These items were donated to Christian Community Action, which provides services to Denton County residents.
The Town would like to congratulate the winners of the Christmas Parade awards in each category. These groups will receive a plaque from the Town at the next meeting of the Parks, Arts, and Library Services Board. The winners are:
