FMTV, Flower Mound’s governmental access cable TV channel, was recently recognized with a total of five awards in two state-wide competitions. The Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers awarded Flower Mound the first place trophy for the 2010 Annual Report video at the organization’s annual conference. In addition, the Texas Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors presented the Town with four additional awards at its annual conference. FMTV won first place for the Community Bulletin Board; second place in Overall Excellence; and two third place awards for Adventures TV and Programming Impact for a lifeguard training video. The Programming Impact award is of particular significance as FMTV staff worked closely with Community Activity Center staff to produce an engaging lifeguard training video that told the true story of a Flower Mound resident who was rescued from drowning at the CAC in 2010.
