Local papers name Flower Mound’s Bakersfield Park ‘Best of the Best’

Highlighting the Town’s mission to provide outstanding facilities that meet residents’ recreational needs, local readers the “Lewisville Leader” and the “Flower Mound Leader” voted Bakersfield Park as the “Best of the Best” in the Arena/Stadium category.

“Sustaining this wonderful facility to the highest level of excellence is a real team effort,” said Gary Sims, the Flower Mound Executive Director of Community Services. “Besides having a great ballfield maintenance crew, the Town’s Athletics Supervisor and Fields Supervisor have been key in developing and implementing improvement efforts for this complex.”

In addition, our partnership with the community’s youth sports associations have proved invaluable to ensure this park remains an award-winning facility.

Located at 1201 Duncan Lane, Bakersfield Park opened in fall 2004 and features a baseball and soccer complex, a pavilion, and a multi-use trail. Each year, thousands of games are played on the fields, including the national American Amateur Youth Baseball Association Tournament, which brings almost 500 teams to the area.
