FMPD and FMFD Independence Day Celebration Safety Reminder
The Flower Mound Police Department and Fire Department would like to remind residents that the possession or discharge of fireworks within Town of Flower Mound limits is prohibited by Town Ordinance. High temperatures, low humidity, and dry vegetation have created an extreme risk of fire. Both departments will be actively enforcing the Town’s Fire Works Ordinance during the upcoming Independence Day weekend. Town of Flower Mound Ordinance Chapter 38, Section 3301.1.3 states:
Fireworks except as provided otherwise herein, no person shall posses, use, handle, store, manufacture, transport, transfer, offer for sale, expose for sale, sale at retail, manufacturer or explode any fireworks within the limits of the Town or within 5,000 feet there of. The fine for a violation of this ordinance is $209.
Officers will issue citations for violations and confiscate all fireworks for destruction. The Flower Mound Police Department and Fire Department wish everyone a happy and safe Independence Day.
