Town Responds to Drilling Mud Report
Town of Flower Mound Environmental Resources staff members responded to a report of a drilling mud spill today at the natural gas drilling site commonly reffered to as the Cummings C-West pad. This spill does not involve drilling or fracturing fluid. Staff inspected the site, confirmed the spill was drilling mud, and informed Williams that this spill would be classified as a discharge and would result in a fine/citation. Williams reported the spill to the Texas Railroad Commission and they are required to provide the Town with an initial summary within 24 hours of the spill. At this time, the spill is estimated at approximately 40 barrels. A complete report is required within 30 days.
