Flower Mound Parks and Recreation Win Gold Medal Award

Gold Medal AwardThe Town of Flower Mound was recently recognized for its excellence in the field of Parks and Recreation Management by the Texas Recreation and Parks Society (TRAPS). The Town was selected to receive the 2015 Texas Gold Medal Award, which honors communities throughout the state that demonstrate excellence in long-range planning, resource management, community programs and events, marketing efforts, and agency recognition during the last three years.

Flower Mound is the only Class III city (Populations 50,001 to 100,000) in the state to receive this designation in 2015. The TRAPS award was officially presented at the TRAPS Annual Institute in Abilene on March 5, and a presentation was made at the Town's PALS Board meeting on March 17 (pictured).  

Tails are Wagging After Council Approves Plans for Flower Mound's First Dog Park

Four-legged Flower Mound residents will soon have a place to run, bark, and play following Council approval of the design plan for the upcoming five-acre dog park to be located in Heritage Park East, at the southeast corner of Garden Ridge Boulevard and Spinks Road. The plan includes designated areas for large and small dogs, in addition to a black vinyl coated fence, signage, turf, irrigation, benches, a water fountain, pet waste stations, and 40 parking spaces. The dog park is expected to be complete by November 2015.
Dixon Park Renovations

The Dixon Park play equipment was recently renovated. The new equipment is castle themed play equipment with one play structure for 2-5 year olds, one play structure for 5-12 year olds, and two spinners for independent play. The playground is ready for use!

Lone Tree Park Renovations
The Lone Tree Park playground is a school yard theme of bright, primary colors. The equipment consists of separate 2-5 year old and 5-12 year old play structures and one spinner for independent play. A pavilion will be installed in the coming weeks.

Prairie Creek Park Renovations

The Prairie Creek Park play equipment which was installed in 1999 was recently renovated. The new equipment is nature/treehouse themed play equipment with one play structure for 2-5 year olds, one play structure for 5-12 year olds, new swings and an independent springing piece. The playground is now complete and open for play!

Twin Coves Park - Overnight Camping

The Parks and Recreation Division offers overnight camping at Twin Coves Park, so get your RV, sleeping bags and mosquito spray ready. The Town is taking reservations for the campground at the Community Activity Center, 1200 Gerault Rd., and over the phone at 972.874.6299. Twin Coves Park - 2015 Annual Passes
The Town of Flower Mound began selling 2015 annual passes for Twin Coves Park on December 1. Annual pass fees are $35 for residents or $50 for non-Flower Mound residents, and are good from Jan. 1, 2015 - Dec. 31, 2015. Annual passes can be purchased during normal business hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday) at the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office located within the Community Activity Center (CAC), 1200 Gerault Rd.

Annual passes for 2015 can also be purchased from the automated attendant at Twin Coves Park. If an annual pass is purchased at the park, individuals will need to stop by the CAC to pick-up their access card.  Please bring the original receipt and proof of residency (if Flower Mound resident) to pick-up the access card. One additional access card per household can also be purchased for $10 at the Parks and Recreation Offices only. Flower Mound Park Pavilions
Rent one of our beautiful park pavilions for your next party or event. The Parks and Recreation Division maintains several pavilions throughout the Town including the newest pavilion at The Heritage Park of Flower Mound, adjacent to the Fort Wildflower community built playground. Park facility reservations can be scheduled up to six months in advance. Reservations must be made in person at the CAC during regular business hours (M-F, 8:00am-5:00pm). Adventures Online Registration
The Town of Flower Mound is excited to offer online registration through the Adventures Online Registration system. Residents can access up-to-date information and register for Recreation, Athletics, and Senior programming, and renew their CAC memberships 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
