FM 2499 12-inch Waterline Phase III Section 2

The project consists of installation of approximately 4,000 linear feet of a 12" waterline along FM 2499 from Spinks to the southern property line of the Temple Baptist Church. The professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., in the amount of $73,950, was approved by Town Council on September 8, 2015. Design is ongoing. Staff negotiated with LISD for an easement across their property. Town Council approved the acquisition of the easement June 6, 2016. The award of the contract to Wildstone Construction, LLC., in the amount of $373,385, was approved by Town Council 0n July 18. Notice to proceed was issued with an effective start date of August 29.

Anticipated completion: January 2017


FM 2499/FM 3040 Intersection 24" Waterline Crossing Replacement

The project includes replacement of a damaged section of a 24" waterline crossing the south side of the FM 2499/FM 3040 intersection. The professional service agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., for $20,900 was approved by the Town Council on March 21, 2016. Design is complete. The construction contract to Mountain Cascade of Texas, L.L.C., in the amount of $442,210, was approved by Town Council on June 20. Pipe ordered by the Town for the project was delivered. The notice to proceed was issued with an effective date of August 1. The installation of the steel casing is ongoing.

Anticipated completion: September 2016

Lakeside Lift Station and Force Main
 

This project includes capacity upgrades to the Lakeside lift station and the installation of approximately 4,374 linear feet of 18" force main line. The PSA for design was awarded to Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc in March 2013. Design is complete.  Staff is preparing the contract documents and plans for advertising. Construction is expected to begin in September. The award of the bid to North Texas Contracting, Inc., in the amount of $2,213,379 was approved by Town Council on August 3, 2015. The notice to proceed date was October 5.  Hydro-testing is complete. In preparation to begin work on the lift station improvements, the cleaning out of the wet well is ongoing. Staff and the contractor are negotiating a change order to address modifications for the original planned lift station improvements. Work on the improvements is ongoing.

Anticipated completion: October 2016

Long Prairie 12” Waterline Project – Section II 

This project includes the installation of 12” waterline along the east side of FM 2499 from Spinks Road to Enterprise Drive. The professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., to provide professional engineering services for $82,000.00 was approved by the Town Council on March 2, 2015. The construction award to Saber Development Corporation, in the amount of $499,551, was approved by Town Council on April 4, 2016. Notice to proceed was issued on May 19. The installation of the waterline is ongoing. To date 1,700 feet out of 4,400 feet of 12" line has been installed. The installation of the 700 feet of 16" is yet to be completed.

Anticipated completion: November 2016

Oak Drive Waterline Replacement 

The project includes installation of approximately 10,000 feet of 8" waterlines replacing substandard 6" waterlines. The professional services contract with Wade Trim, Inc. for engineering services in the amount of $161,647.50 was approved by the Town Council on November 17, 2014.  The bid opening was held on December 9.  The construction contract with A&M construction and Utilities, Inc., in the amount of $1,083,877.50, was approved by Town Council January 21, 2016. The notice to proceed was issued with an effective start date of March 7, 2016.   Concrete driveway repairs are complete. Service installations are ongoing.

Anticipated completion: September 2016

Oak Drive Lift Station and Force Main – Phase III 

The project includes installation of approximately 12,500 linear feet of a 30” forcemain line from the Oak Drive Lift Station to the wastewater treatment plant including the installation of new flow control valves and odor control equipment. The PSA for design was awarded to Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., in the amount of $372,000.00 by Town Council on February 18, 2013. The first amendment to the PSA was approved by in the amount of $12,000.00 which included irrigation and landscaping along the alignment of the forcemain in the Garden Ridge medians. Town Council approved the award of the contract to SJ Louis Construction of Texas, LTD, in the amount of $5,442,771.57 on February 16, 2015.  Notice to proceed was issued with the effective date of March 25. Final connection of the line to the WWTP headworks is complete. After putting the new 30" force main online, additional pressure release valves will need to be installed on the existing 24" force main. Ongoing work/installations:

  • Pressure release valves
  • Bio-filters
  • Flow meter

Anticipated completion: October 2016

Pintail Pump Station Upgrades

The project consists of upgrades to the pump station capacity, upgrades to aging equipment and the addition of standby generation. The professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., to provide professional engineering services associated with the upgrades in the amount of $222,500 was approved by Town Council on July 20, 2015. The construction contract to Felix Construction Company, Corp., in the amount of $1,009,380, was approved by Town Council on March 21, 2016. The professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., to provide contract construction administrative phase services, in the amount of $67,500, was approved by Town Council on April 4. Notice to proceed was issued with an effective date of May 2. Contractor has moved on site to begin work.

Anticipated completion: February 2017
   

Sanitary Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation project 2016    

The project consists of various levels of repairs to 229 manholes. Bid opening was held on July 19, 2016 and only one bid received. The bid was more than twice the estimate. The project will be re-bid and the invitation to bid will be sent to several known manhole rehabilitation contractors.  

Shady Point Acres Waterline Replacement 

The project consists of the replacement of approximately 5,000 feet of substandard 8" waterlines in the Shady Point Acres subdivision. The replacement is driven line conditions, water quality issues and lack of fire hydrants. The professional services agreement with Wade Trim, Inc., in the amount of $128,629, was approved on May 2, 2016. Right of entry notification letters are being sent prior to the beginning of surveying and subsurface utility engineering (S.U.E) investigation. The S.U.E. investigation is complete. The preliminary alignment drawing is complete and being reviewed by staff.

Upper Timber Creek Interceptor Phase III

The project includes the replacement and realignment of approximately 3,000 linear feet of 27 inch wastewater main from FM 1171 to Hidden Forest Drive. The professional services agreement for the design phase services with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., for $134,500, was approved by Town Council on April 18, 2016. Alignment was approved taking in consideration the new park amenities, large trees and existing property and easements. Survey is complete. The consultant is preparing an exhibit showing all easement locations that will need to be acquired for the project. Design is ongoing.

Wastewater Clarifier No. 1 rehabilitation

This project includes the complete replacement of all structural and mechanical components of the final clarifier No. 1. The award of the purchase of materials and services to Brown and Root Industrial Services, LLC., in the amount of $308,557, was approved by Town Council on July 18, 2016. Contractor is ordering equipment that will be needed to complete the rehabilitation . Date for start of construction is yet to be determined.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Rehabilitation Phase VI – Plant Biosolids Facilities Upgrades 

This project is for upgrades to the WWTP Biosolids facilities. The professional services agreement (PSA) with Alan Plummer Associates, Inc., to provide engineering services in preparing detailed plans and specifications relating to the project in the amount of $315,108 was approved by Town Council on July 20, 2015.   Town Council approved the $3,837,000 construction contract with Red River Construction Co., on September 6, 2016.
