KUDOS FROM CITIZENS!

Thank you from Brian Bigley, 5th grade teacher at Forest Vista Elementary, to Jared Martin, Environmental Services:
I would like to thank you again for taking our fifth graders on the tour of the Tree Farm. They really enjoyed the time they spent with you guys, and they are still talking about the fun they had.  Thank you for giving them the "goodie" bags at the end of the tour too. They are all drinking water out of their new water bottles!  A few of the parents have even told me that their kids are really using the shower timers at home!  That was very thoughtful of you and your team to provide these items to our kids.

I often make short videos of the things we do at school to share with the parents.  I made a video of our morning at the Tree Farm, and it is located on our classroom YouTube page:

Thanks again!  We look forward to working with you all again next year.

Email to Eric Metzger, Fire Chief, from student in Magnolia, TX:

My name is Summer F. and I am writing to you on behalf of Williams Elementary in Magnolia, TX. The majority of our students and staff were affected by the recent Tri-County Wildfires. Words cannot express our gratitude to you for your selfless generosity in battling the fires. It is because of your brave efforts and the efforts of each rescue department that so many of our homes were saved. Fire crew included:  Captains Curt Odneal and James Reid, FAOs Matt Brenner, Chance Nelms, Dewayne Bryant and Robert Sprabary, and Firefighters Kevin Davis, Jeff Burks, Ben Jackson and Waylan Langford.

Kudos from FM citizen, B. D., to Jamie Mason, Property Standards Specialist:
Mr.  Mason called me this morning, and he was very helpful and I would like to commend him for how he handled this situation (moving heavy tree limbs).  He actually listened to my problem and showed concern.  My house is set for bulk pickup for today, but Mr. Mason stated that if for some reason the tree limbs were not picked up today that I should call him back and he would help me find a solution for this problem.  Once again I just wanted you to know how helpful Mr. Mason was on this matter.

Tour of Fire Station #4 (Bridlewood) - Captain Strider Floyd, FAO Jacob Ventrca, Firefighters Martin Patino, Jack Piontkowsky and Eric Aguilar:

We wanted to thank the firefighters of shift A at the Bridlewood Station (#4) for allowing Mrs. Cary’s 3rd grade class from Bridlewood Elementary to tour the station today.
They were very knowledgeable and were great with the kids.  Even the moms learned a few things today.  The kids had some great questions and the firefighters were on top of it with answers they could understand.  The fire station was immaculate and the firefighters were sharp!  Thanks for allowing the stations to host kids and give tours.
We very much enjoyed ourselves today!  (Susan L. – Parent)

Thank you from FM citizen, D. Dawson, to Kip Goodchild, Construction Inspection:
Kip:  I noticed that the new street light was installed last week at the intersection.  I just wanted to say Thank You!  Have a great week.

Kudos from FM citizen, T. Broyles, to Fire Staff:
My grandson Lucas and I had a great time at the open house. Thank you very much to all of you.

Seniors in Motion – Thank you from military personnel (Brandi B.):
Thank you so much for the package you sent – it means a lot.  It’s nice to know that people back home still support and think of us especially since this deployment has been particularly hard on some of us.  I’ve enclosed a CD of some pictures that I have compiled of soldiers in my company.  We are getting ready to come back home so a lot of us are giddy with excitement to be returning to our families.  I can’t stress enough how grateful we all are for your support.  It gives us a renewed feeling that we are doing this for a purpose!

Thank you from citizen, B. Janvrin, to Station #4 (Captain Strider Floyd, FAO Jacob Ventrca and Firefighters Martin Patino and James Bobbitt):

Strider:  I brought my entire family to the station on Sunday and Jacob spent at least an hour going through all the details, answering questions and being a really good sport. My daughter received an A on her report and my opinion of Station # 4 and the guys there couldn't be higher. We are very thankful & proud to have such a great group of guys in our community!! Have a safe and great weekend!!

Compliments from FM citizen, V. Nett, to Engineering staff - Matt Hotelling,
Mike Ford, Kip Goodchild and Tracy LaPiene:

Citizen called and wanted to voice her thanks for the great job the engineering project team did on the Flower Mound Road Reconstruction project.  She said she appreciated how clearly marked the traffic flow was throughout the project.  She said it was great to have confidence on where she was supposed to be driving at all times during construction, even during the night.  She said without the great job the Town staff did the project could have been a traffic nightmare and wanted to call to voice her appreciation.

Kudos from A. Jarrell for Communications Officer, Michael LeFave:

I wanted to comment on great Flower Mound Customer Service and pay a compliment to Michael in Fire/Police dispatch.   We are hosting friends tonight and I wanted to know if I could light a fire in my chimnea. I called to find out the status of the burn ban. Michael originally responded that he thought the ban was still in effect, which I accepted, and we hung up.  About 5 min later he called me back and said he'd checked with the Battalion Chief, found out that the ban had been lifted Wed, and that a chimnea fire would be fine.

He did not have to take the time to check the facts, call the Chief, or call me back, but I really appreciated him doing so. I thought and felt like he was going above and beyond to make sure I was accurately informed!  As for my guests enjoying the fire, who knows, but I enjoyed the feeling of being significant enough to be served well!

KUDOS  - INTERNAL – EMPLOYEE TO EMPLOYEE!

Kudos from Sandra Scarborough, HR, to Accounting Services:

Tammy (Wilson):  I want to give kudos to Judy Watson (Payroll) for the great work she did processing the merit increases.  She had to make payroll changes for well over 500 employees, and I did not find a single error.  It’s quite a comfort in my position to work with someone so detail oriented.  She did a great job!

Kudos from Theresa Scott, Town Secretary, to volunteers:

Thank you to each of the individuals who volunteered their time either during or after hours to assist the Town Secretary’s Office with the Town’s annual Board & Commission Appreciation Banquet:  Sue Compton, Krystle Nelinson, Cindi Price and Racheal Hudson

Thank you from Jeff White (Seniors in Motion) to Parks Department:

I wanted to thank Shen Van Wagoner and Mark Taylor from the Parks Department for moving the Horseshoe Pit from the CAC to the Shirley Voirin Social Senior Center.  They did a great job and at record speed.  The horseshoe pit will be a great asset for SIM members to stay physically active.  (Note from Chase Houston – Parks:  Shen and Mark are always willing to do whatever is asked of them. They provide an atmosphere and environment that is positive for peers and subordinates to enjoy. I always appreciate their willingness and cheerful attitude).

Kudos to Library Personnel – Becky Getting, Jill Dawson and Beth Walter:

Email from Sue Compton (Dir. Of Library Services):  Two programs for adults offered recently at the library received some great press.  The first program is “Working with the Press”, a program Becky offers each year to assist non-profits in working with the press.  The editor of Neighbors Go in the Dallas Morning News was quite impressed.  Jill Dawson, Adult Services Librarian, organized the Latte Da Dairy Program, which spotlighted a local FM business.  The write-up in the Cross Timbers Gazette was great.  The library is offering at least one program for adults each month (some months there are two) in addition to the two book clubs for adult.  You can find information on upcoming programs at the library website www.fmlibrary.net.  A big thank you to Becky, Jill and Beth for all their hard work on planning and presenting programs for adults!!
