Town of Flower Mound Holiday Closures - 2009

Electronic Closure Notifications

To receive electronic notifications regarding Town holiday closures or alternate trash pick up schedules, please visit the “Communicate With Us” page and subscribe to Flower Mound’s E-Town electronic newsletters, RSS feed, and Twitter feed, or become a fan of Flower Mound’s Facebook page.

If a holiday or an associated closure day occurs during the work week, Flower Mound Town offices, Flower Mound Municipal court, and the Flower Mound Animal Adoption Center will close. Police and Fire Emergency Services will remain in operation during all holidays. The Town of Flower Mound will recognize and close during the following eight holidays in 2009:

New Year's Day	January 1
Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday	January 19
Good Friday	April 10
Memorial Day	May 25
Independence Day	July 3
Labor Day	September 7
Thanksgiving	November 26 and 27
Christmas	December 24 and 25

Allied Waste Services

If a holiday recognized by Allied Waste Services occurs during the work week, trash pick-up schedules will be delayed one day, with collections being completed on Saturday. Allied will recognize and postpone service during the following six holidays in 2009:

New Year's Day	January 1
Memorial Day	May 25
Independence Day	July 3
Labor Day	September 7
Thanksgiving	November 26
Christmas	December 25

Federal Holidays

The Town does not close or cease operations for every federal holiday. All Town offices will remain open and trash collection services will remain on schedule during the following federal holidays:

George Washington's Birthday	February 16
Columbus Day	October 12
Veterans Day	November 11

Flower Mound Public Library

If a holiday or an associated closure day occurs during the work week, the Flower Mound Library will either close or remain in operation during alternate hours. The Library will recognize and close during the following eight holidays in 2009:

New Year's Day	January 1
Easter	April 12
Memorial Day	May 25
Independence Day	July 3
Labor Day	September 7
Thanksgiving	November 26 and 27 (Closing at 5 p.m. November 25)
Christmas	December 24 and 25

Community Activity Center

If a holiday or an associated closure day occurs during the work week, the Flower Mound Community Activity Center will either close or remain in operation during alternate hours. The Community Activity Center will adhere to the schedule below during the following eight holidays in 2009:

Easter - April 12	Closed
Memorial Day - May 25	Open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Independence Day - July 3	Open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Labor Day - September 7	Open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Thanksgiving - November 26 and 27	November 26 - Closed November 27 - Open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Christmas - December 24 and 25	Closed
New Year's Eve - December 31	Open 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
