Officer of the Year – Fire Captain Ronnie McCarroll

Captain McCarroll began his career with the Flower Mound Fire Department as a firefighter in November, 1990. McCarroll was promoted to Fire Captain in January, 2010.  McCarroll is a great “people person” and makes customer service his number one priority.  He has a passion for the fire service and does a great job for the Ton and its citizens.

Firefighter of the Year – Firefighter James Bobbitt

Firefighter James Bobbitt has been a valuable asset to the Flower Mound Fire Department since joining in August, 2007.  Bobbitt brings a passion for the job and truly represents the best in firefighting.

Fire Apparatus Operator of the Year – FAO Jesse Wenger

Fire Apparatus Operator Jesse Wenger joined the department in September, 1998 and was promoted to FAO in January, 2010.  Wenger displays teamwork with skill and integrity going the extra step to ensure high quality work.

Fire Apparatus Operator of the Year – FAO Jacob Ventrca

Fire Apparatus Operator Jacob Ventrca has been a member of the Flower Mound Fire Department since July 1998 and was promoted to Fire Apparatus Operator in January 2010.  His enthusiasm and passion for the fire service is contagious.  Over the last several years, Ventrca has received numerous awards including Firefighter of Year in 2007 and Educator of the Year in 2001 and 2008.   His level of professionalism and quality of work are unmatched.

Paramedic of the Year – Firefighter Dustin Brewer

Firefighter/Paramedic Dustin Brewer has been has been with the department since May, 2009 and early on demonstrated a strong commitment to serving his patients as well as being a role model for new medics.  He exemplifies emergency medical service professionalism at its best.

Educator of the Year – Captain Robert Brooks

Captain Robert Brooks is one of the founders of the Flower Mound S.A.F.E. team, our public education program.  Captain Brooks is one of the department’s most senior members, joining the department in 1984 as a volunteer firefighter. As Firefighter Bob, Captain Brooks has been instrumental in the delivery of fire education programs to the Flower Mound and Highland Village school children, writing the scripts for most of the programs and working behind the scenes.  Captain Brooks is also heads up the Juvenile Fire Setter program, providing education and counseling to parents and children.  The Flower Mound Fire Department appreciates Captain Brooks’ commitment and leadership he provides, especially to the Town’s youngest residents.
