Medic Units

Tender 502 is a 3000 gallon water Tender (tanker) built on a Pierce / International chassis. This vehicle is equipped to provide water in rural areas without hydrants, support hydrant fed areas, and provide water to areas with limited or no access to hydrants (example: Interstate 35 W). This vehicle is also equipped with a pump and hose and can be used as a quick attack engine.
This unit was purchased utilizing grant funds awarded to the Town of Flower Mound by the Federal Emergency Management Agency Fire Act Program. This was a 70/30 matching grant, with FEMA providing funds for 70% of the vehicle and the Town providing 30% of the cost. Total cost of the unit with equipment was $213,000. It is also available for regional response via mutual aid agreements with Denton and Tarrant Counties.

Denton County Hazardous Materials Response Vehicle
The Denton County Hazardous Materials Spill Trailer, operated by the Flower Mound Fire Department, is a cooperative effort between the Town and the Denton County Fire Chief’s Association. The DCFCA provided the trailer and initial equipment for use in the containment of hazardous materials spills. The Flower Mound Fire Department provides regional response of the trailer with on duty Hazardous Materials Technicians when requested. It is one of two in Denton County.
The tow vehicle for the HAZ-MAT trailer is a 2004 F 350 pick-up purchased by the Town of Flower Mound Fire Department utilizing grant funds from the United States Department of Homeland Security. These grant funds were made available to enhance the regional response capabilities to hazardous materials emergencies. Additional equipment for the trailer was also purchased utilizing Homeland Security Grant funds. |

2007 Kubota four–wheel drive all terrain vehicle (ATV) equipped for fire fighting and EMS response. It is equipped with a 90 gallon water tank, fire pump and forestry hose lines. It is also equipped with ALS medical equipment and is designed to carry a stretcher when needed. This unit is used for rough terrain and areas otherwise inaccessible to vehicles. It is available for regional response. The vehicle, trailer and equipment were purchased with Community Grant Funds provided by CoServe Electric Co-Op. |
Boat 265
2006 22’ Boston Whaler equipped for rescue and fire fighting, including a 500 gpm pump and monitor nozzle, sonar, medical and rescue equipment. This unit is operated as a joint Marine Safety Program between the Flower Mound Fire Department and the Flower Mound Police Department. The unit is housed and utilized at Grapevine Lake, but is available for regional response. This vessel was purchased with funds from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. |
