CodeRED Notification System

The Town of Flower Mound has instituted the CodeRED Emergency Notification System – a high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications. This system allows the Town to telephone targeted areas of Flower Mound in the case of an emergency situation that requires immediate action.

The system is capable of dialing 60,000 phone numbers per hour and delivers a recorded message from Town staff to a live person or an answering machine, making three attempts to connect to a number. Land lines registered with the annually updated National Residential Database automatically receives CodeRED calls.  Alternate phone numbers, such as cellular or business, may be registered with the CodeRED system by clicking here. Required information includes first and last name, physical street address, city, state, zip code, and primary phone number.

This system will only be used for emergency purposes and incidents where rapid and accurate notification is essential for life safety. Examples of times when the CodeRED system could be utilized include:

  • Drinking water contamination
  • Utility outage
  • Evacuation notice and route
  • Missing person
  • Fires or floods
  • Bomb threat
  • Hostage situation
  • Chemical spill or gas leak
