In April 2010, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound opened its doors. The full-service hospital includes 103 beds with 250 physicians on staff with a wide range of specialties. The hospital is the anchor of the developing River Walk at Central Park project, and has become a catalyst for additional medical-related development in Flower Mound.

Rainier Medical Investments broke ground on a three-story, 84,000-square-foot medical office building attached to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound in November 2010. The building is the first of three buildings in the River Walk Medical project. Construction on the two additional buildings of 60,000 and 15,000 square feet is expected to start next year.

Highland Village-based Landcore Development Company announced in May that they were moving forward with a 22-acre medical complex in Flower Mound just north of the new hospital. Timber Creek Medical Park will consist of two 60,000-square-foot medical office buildings similar to the new hospital’s design. Construction of Timber Creek Medical Park is expected in spring 2011.

Orthopedic Associates began construction of a 45,000-square-foot medical office building at the corner of FM 2499 and College Pkwy in May. Phase II is expected to include an additional 15,000-square-foot building on the 5-acre tract. This project represents an existing business expansion within Flower Mound and will accommodate the firm’s continued growth.

In addition, the 42-bed inpatient Continuum Rehabilitation Hospital of North Texas opened its doors to patients in December 2010. The project added several million dollars to the Town’s tax base. The hospital finished out an existing building at 3100 Peters Colony Road, and features private rooms, a spa, a gym, concierge service and a restaurant.
