Dallas/Fort
Worth International Airport
Over the last 25 years, DFW has grown to become one of the world's
preeminent airports. It is the fifth busiest airport in the world
in passenger travel and is a main hub for national and international
travel. The airport is a major force in the Texas economy and to
remain a leader in the aviation industry and an economic generator
for North Texas, DFW continues to pursue Airport development projects
that are responsive, customer-focused, market-driven and ensure
that the Airport remains fiscally sound.
DFW has developed a comprehensive Capital Development Program, a
program that will invest $2.6 billion into the Airport's infrastructure
over a five-year time period to include a new terminal, a people
mover system, additional parking, airfield improvements, and an
eighth runway. It is estimated that DFW's investment will generate
an additional $34 billion in economic impact on the North Texas
economy and an additional 77,000 new jobs over the next 15 years.
In short, DFW is moving forward with its Capital Development Program
to ensure that it remains the economic generator for the Dallas-Fort
Worth Metroplex and competitive with other airports that are already
investing in their aviation infrastructure.
Alliance Airport
Alliance is a 9,600 acre master planned development anchored by
the world's first industrial airport. Alliance provides the ultimate
in transportation options. The convergence of air, rail and highway
in one central location ensures maximum efficiency of cost and time.
East access to Interstate Highway I-35W and other highway networks,
two main rail lines, an air cargo hub, the intermodal rail complex,
and Alliance Airport all combine to give Alliance logistical advantages.
Fort Worth Alliance Airport is a public airport that exclusively
serves the needs of industrial, business and general aviation
users, rather than commercial airlines. The airport operates 24
hours a day, year-round, and offers direct taxiway access to nearby
business facilities.
