In 2007, the Flower Mound Revenue Options Committee recommended the Town Council to call an election to consider four one-quarter cents of sales tax for parks and recreation, street maintenance, crime control, and fire control. Flower Mound voters approved all four dedicated sales tax propositions in November 2007.
In August 2011, the Town Council called a subsequent election for Flower Mound voters to consider the four-year reauthorization of the Street Maintenance dedicated sales tax, and the 10-year reauthorization of the Crime District and Fire District dedicated sales taxes.
