FM 2499 (between FM 1171 and FM 407) Lane Closure - Various lanes will be closed for curb and wheelchair ramp construction from March 3 to March 6, 2010.

Garden Ridge (from FM 3040 south to Spinks Rd.) – Garden Ridge (south of FM 3040) to Spinks is the last segment to complete the road from FM 1171 to Lakeside Parkway.  This project will construct a new four-lane concrete curb and gutter roadway section between FM 3040 and Spinks Rd, including two bridges.  The project is currently advertising for bid with construction expected to begin May 2010.  Once started, construction will take approximately one year.  For questions, please contact Cynthia Pierce P.E. at cynthia.pierce@flower-mound.com or 972.874.6302.

Flower Mound Road- This project includes the reconstruction of the existing two-lane asphalt roadway from Skillern to FM 1171. The proposed roadway will consist of four-lane concrete paving with curb and gutter and a center median. The design is underway, and construction is scheduled to begin spring 2010. FM2499 Section III -The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Project widening the existing two lane roadway to a six lane divided thoroughfare from FM 1171 to FM 407 began on October 29, 2007 and is currently scheduled to be completed by July 2010. Both north and southbound traffic flows will be maintained throughout the project.

The project will be broken down into three main phases. Phase I will be the construction of the three southbound lanes along with associated side streets and driveway entrances. Phase II will be the construction of the three northbound lanes along with associated side streets and driveway entrances. Phase III will be the construction of the center median and associated left turn lanes.

FM 2499 and FM 407 will have various lane closures.

Phase I has been completed and all traffic has been moved to the completed southbound lanes from FM 407 to FM 1171.

Phase II is under construction.

FM 1171 Section 1 -  The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Project widening the existing two lane roadway to a six lane divided thoroughfare from FM 2499 to Shiloh Road began February 18, 2008 and is currently scheduled to be completed by July 2010. Both east and westbound traffic flows will be maintained throughout the project.

Phase II will be the construction of the three westbound lanes along with associated side streets and driveway entrances. FM 407 (Chinn Chapel Rd to Briar Hill Rd)  -  The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) project consists of widening the existing FM 407 two lane roadway to a four lane divided thoroughfare from Chinn Chapel Rd to Briar Hill Rd. TxDOT has informed the Town that the construction contract is anticipated to be awarded February 2010. The construction schedule has yet to be determined. East and westbound traffic flows as well as access to retail and commercial developments will be maintained throughout the project. FM 1171 & US 377 - East and westbound FM 1171 right and left turn lanes onto US 377. Pending TxDOT approval.

Fire Station #5 - Construction for the Town’s fifth fire station is currently uderway. Operations and Maintenance Facility - The 90% plans have been reviewed by staff and returned to the design consultant for revisions.  Staff anticipates the return of 100% plans the week of October 12.  Likewise the project is scheduled for the October 12 P&Z meeting.
