The Town of Flower Mound provides annual funding to Community Support organizations that provide activities, programs, and services to the residents of Flower Mound and help make Flower Mound a great place to live and visit.
Organizations that can be reasonably categorized under the heading of Community Support and impact the lives of Flower Mound residents are eligible for funding, which is identified by the Town Council through the annual budget process.
In conjunction with the funding, The Town of Flower Mound also provides informational services to the funded organizations through a variety of media including the web site, FMTV, the E-Town Bulletins, and the monthly MY FM utility bill bulletin. In accordance with Town of Flower Mound policy, organizations that receive financial support through the Community Support Funding / Annual Budget process, Keep Flower Mound Beautiful, and The Friends of The Flower Mound Library are eligible to receive an array of additional informational, communication, and marketing services. The Lewisville Lake Symphony will present "Top of the Strings," a free concert featuring young artists from The Institute for Strings, at 7:30 p.m. January 27 at Trinity Presbyterian Chuch, 5500 Morris Rd. Part of the symphony's International Chamber Series, the concert is presented in cooperation with the University of North Texas' College of Music. The Lewisville Lake Symphony is now accepting applications for its internship program. Students in eighth- through twelfth-grades are eligible to apply for one of 15 spots. If accepted, interns assist with the House Front activities during performances and, in return, have the opportunity to sit on stage during final rehearsals and earn community service credits. Theatre FMPAT will celebrate its’ 20th Anniversary with a performance of “Once Upon a Time – A Musical Fairy Tale Comes True” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17 - 18 at the MCL Grand Black Box Theatre, 100 N. Charles St. in Lewisville. The only professional, Actors’ Equity Association theatre in Denton County since 1993, actors will showcase the history of Theatre FMPAT in the performance’s musical selections from past seasons, including musical hits from: Gypsy, Into the Woods, Grease, Godspell, Annie, Fiddler on the Roof, Little Shop of Horrors, and more.
