Sales Tax Deduction Information |
Congress extended the bill through 2009 that allows individuals from states that do not levy a state income tax to deduct sales tax on their federal income tax return for certain items purchased throughout the year. The Town of Flower Mound has a two percent local sales tax rate. One percent goes to the Town’s General Fund and the other one percent is comprised of four, voter-approved dedicated sales taxes.

Property Tax Information
All real and personal property in the State of Texas is subject to ad valorem property taxes,and is appraised by central appraisal districts (CAD), which are typically located within each county in the state. All properties in the Town are appraised by the Denton CAD and Tarrant CAD. The Town also contracts with the Denton County Tax Office for the assessment and collection of its ad valorem taxes.
