Flower Mound Public Library Staff is offering a short workshop to introduce the features of NoveList, the trusted source for read-alike recommendations. This online tool, free to Flower Mound Public Library cardholders, is a comprehensive source of information about books that includes expert recommendations, reviews, articles, and lists as well as discussion guides useful for book clubs. In this presentation, we will demonstrate key features of this resource and how to use it to find your next great read. We’ll also spotlight some new releases and seasonal books that would be great for personal reading or for holiday gifts.   1. Flower Mound Police Department's SHARP class

    The Flower Mound Police Department is offering a free Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention (SHARP) class to residents on Saturday December 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Flower Mound Police Department, 4150 Kirkpatrick Lane. The class is focused on teaching techniques that are easy to learn and be remembered, and effective regardless of size of strength. FMPD officers will divide the training into four topics, which include: · The psychological aspect of sudden attack upon the body · Prevention psychology · Managing social or professional physical harassment · Sexual assault countermeasures – this portion of the class will involve physical techniques (escapes, strikes, etc.) and will be taught at each student’s comfort level. Please dress for physical activity if you plan to participate in the physical portion of the class. Attendees must register for the class and can do so by calling 972.874.3304 or sending an email to policetraining@flower-mound.com. Lunch will be provided
