  1. Valentine's Night Out

    Looking for something fun for the kids (ages 5 to 12) to do while you enjoy a romantic Valentine’s evening out? Parks & Recreation staff is offering a special after-hours Valentine’s Night Out event with a pizza dinner, swimming, gym games, and hanging out in the Chill Zone. Activities will end with a movie on the 20 foot screen in the gym, so bring something comfortable to relax on to watch the movie! Pre-registration is required.     The Flower Mound Public Library will host a three-part Water Conservation Symposium on Saturday, February 20 at 1:30 p.m. Discover ways to conserve water in your landscape! Learn how to create low-water-use natural environments in both residential and commercial applications through landscaping with beautiful native plants and through use of rainwater harvesting. Presentations include: Sustainable Commercial Development at 1:30 p.m.; Native Texas Plants at 2:30 p.m.; and Rainwater Harvesting at 3:30 p.m. This event is presented by Bill Neiman, a native plant consultant and prairie restoration specialist, and is sponsored by The Flower Mound Foundation, Native American Seed, and Prairie Commons. This program teaches the composting process, the different types and methods of composting, as well as how to compost and its importance.     The Library will host a three-part Water Conservation Symposium, where native plant consultant and prairie restoration specialist Bill Neiman will help residents discover ways to create beautiful natural environments in both residential and commercial properties, using native plants and rainwater harvesting.
