Special Event

Haunted Library:Have a spook-tacular good time in our Haunted Library for grades K-5! Come in costume for tricks, treats, and tours every 15 minutes. This is a low-scare haunted house suitable for younger and/or sensitive children. Tour tickets are free and will be handed out starting at 11 a.m. on the program day.
No tickets are needed to attend the mini-carnival, suitable for all ages! Play games, win prizes, and walk away with a Haunted Library craft.

Weekly Children's Classes

Weekly classes meet year-round, except during the month of August and the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Buzzing Bumblebees
: Geared toward children who are not yet walking, this class will encourage babies to explore the world of language and develop motor skills through books, songs, rhymes and related activities. Buzzing Bumblebees meets on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. Registration is not required

Wiggly Walkers: A new class designed for “new walkers” (those who are just starting to walk and still require some assistance) up to the age of two. Wiggly Walkers encourages tots to build early literacy skills through music, books, and rhyme. This class meets Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m.

Romping Rhymers: Two- and three-year-olds will have a rollicking time reading, singing, and dancing while continuing to build literacy skills at Romping Rhymers on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11 a.m.

Leaping Learners: Children ages three to five will share books, sing songs, and develop group listening skills in this class designed as a launch pad to reading. Leaping Learners meets Mondays and Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and Tuesdays at 2 p.m.

After School Special
Wind down after a long day at school with different activities each month including crafts, performers, and games for grades K-5, from 3:45-4:30 p.m. Snacks will be served.

Babies ages 0-18 months. This is an opportunity for parents, caregivers, grandparents, and their baby to join others in experiencing a variety of sensory play areas including building boxes, art activities, shakers, and much more! This program meets on the second Friday of each month (except August) from 11:15-12:15 p.m.
2017 dates: September 8, October 13, November 10, and December 8

Gaming Unplugged
Join fellow gamers for an afternoon of chess, table-top games and role-playing games on the second Sunday of the month from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Games will be provided, or you may bring your own. All ages welcome.
2017 dates: September 10, October 8, November 12 and December 10.

Family Storytime
Stories, music, rhyme, crafts, and snacks for families with young children (60 minutes). Registration not required. This program meet on the third Wednesday of each month (except August) from 7-8 p.m.
2017 dates: September 20, October 18, November 15, and December 20

Firecracker Book Club        
Book discussion and related activities for children in grades 3-5 only. Reservations required for groups of eight or more; call 972.874.6167. A limited number of books will be available to borrow at each meeting. This program meets on the second Tuesday of each month, September-May at 4:00-5:00 p.m.
